A helmet for officers of the Somersetshire Light Infantry, 1st half of the 20th century The helmet skull covered with black-green felt, non-ferrous metal fittings (gilt vestiges), the cross plate with relief-worked roses, screwed-on tip, the emblem with regimental insignia beneath a royal crown. Velvet underlaid chain on relief-worked rosettes. Light cotton liner with maker´s stamp "Hawkes, London", old wearer- and size label "6 7/8 full", light leather sweatband, crimson silk (damaged).
