Double violets were a little better last week. Funeral work was brisk all last week. For the last two weeks all the stores have had large displays of artificial stock which will now be replaced by the Christmas plants and baskets. Be- cause of the fuel situation the hours of the retail stores were limited last week to from 12 noon to 6 p. m., but the re- strictions were lifted at the beginning of this week. Various Notes. J. J. Le Borious had a large and elaborate decoration for the Mullen wedding. It took the form of an altar arrangement of palms, ferns and Ophe- lia roses. The fireplace was banked with ferns and Ophelia roses. The din- ing room was decorated with Ophelias and the table was showered with Cecile Brunners. The bride's bouquet con- cisted of white roses showered with Cecile Brunners and the maids carried Ophelias. The Duluth Floral Co. was kept busy with the McLeod funeral at Chisholm, Minn., last week.
