At the Worcester County Horticul- tural Society's annual meeting, No- vember 3, the following officers were elected by acclamation, no opposition being made. George Calvin Rice, president; Arthur J. Marble, Chas. Greenwood and Edward A. Breed, vice-presidents; Chas. S. Bacon, treas- urer; Adin A. Hixon, secretary. This is the twentieth year Mr. Hixon has held the office of secretary and li- brarian. President Rice presided over the meeting and J. K. Greene was elected secretary pro tem in place of Mr. Hixon, whose serious illness made it impossible for him to be present. Chas. S. Bacon read the report of the treasurer, showing that the total receipts for the year were $10,; the disbursements, $9,; balance in the general fund, $6,; balance in the permanent fund, $4, Re- ports of the winter meetings were read by the chairman, Arthur J. Mar- ble, and the judges reported. After the election acknowledgment was made of gifts of two pictures by Miss Frances M. Lincoln and Miss Chase.
