A "Trabanten" wheellock musket, for the Dresden Guards under Elector Christian I (1560 - 1591) of Saxony, dated 1589. Octagonal barrel merging to round with a smooth bore in 16 mm calibre. There is engraved decoration on the muzzle and base of the barrel, as well as at the point where the barrel becomes round. Dovetailed brass front sight.
