While the manuscript was yet inembryo, it seemed best to extend the scope of thework to meet the needs of the busy practitioner,and other students who may find the usual man-uals on psychiatry too complex and diffuse forready reference. The writer has endeavored to be as practicalas possible, and has omitted secondary mattersand abstract questions still in dispute.
