On the followingday I went to the place designated in pursuit of her, tosee if I could not induce her to go to a place where shewould have an opportunity to reform. On entering, Ifound the room full of respectably-dressed women, sur-rounded with ale and porter bottles, the contents ofwhich they were freely drinking.
