Baro village, Guinea, 1st May 2015: Nankouman Dioubate, 27, has been running the Bar Arc-en-ciel on the corner of the main street into town for four years.


Baro, Guinea, 1st May 2015: Baro village is be above the proposed level of the Fomi Dam and will be receiving people displaced by the dam. Nankouman Dioubate, 27, married with one daughter, Assietou, 10, has been running the Bar Arc-en-ciel (Rainbow) on the corner of the main street into town for four years. He learned to cook from his mother and used to cook for her. He makes many dishes including rice, chicken, eggs, sweet potatoes etc. His daughter, who goes to school in the mornings, helps him and his nephew also works here. “The position of the restaurant is good and people come from nearby villages to eat here. I plan to expand the restaurant.” He hopes the dam construction will start soon because he wants to be the cook for the construction company.
