Sailing-master Aylwin, who had beenseverely wounded, Mas promoted to the rank of lieutenant, andlieutenant Morris, who had been also wounded, was promotedto the rank of post-captain. This aflair was not less mortify-ing to Great Britain, who for thirty years had in no instancelost a frigate in any thing like an equal conflict.
