A C-130J aircraft assigned with the 146th Airlift Wing flew the Soldiers to Moffett Air National Guard Base, California, home of the 129th Rescue Wing on March 14, 2021. Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Smiley, Director, Joint Staff of the California National Guard greeted the returning Soldiers. The service members also received a warm welcome and a hot meal after the six-hour flight. Four chartered buses transported the Soldiers back to their armory and their families at San Francisco, escorted by members of the Patriot Guard Riders and the American Legion Riders.
