A Pennineway fingerpost on snow covered Saddleworth Moors in winter adjacent to the A635. Saddleworth Moor is one of 4 areas in the northern Dark Peak District. The pennine Way is a 270-mile walk that will take you from the Peak District National Park along the Pennine ridge through the Yorkshire Dales, up into Northumberland, across the Cheviots, setting you down in the Scottish Borders. The moor became infamous as the burial site of a number of the victims of Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, dubbed the 'Moors Murders'. The A635 which is known locally as the 'Isle of Skye road' passes across the moor.
