Santa Rita, Guam (Aug. 18, 2021) Equipment Operator Constructionman John Hanford, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1 being congratulated by Rear Adm. Nicholson; Commander, Joint Region Marianas, moments before receiving a coin for his role as a bus driver supporting the United Kingdom Strike Group 21 sailors docked on Naval Base Guam. NMCB 1 Detachment Guam is forward-deployed to execute construction, humanitarian assistance, theater security cooperation, and support Fleet maneuver in the 7th Fleet areas of operation.
