This invention relates to improvements in automatic felttighteners for paper-making machines, and it consists in the. tnnRNns constructions, combinations, and arrangements herein de-scribed and claimed. An object of our invention is to provide an improveddevice over that disclosed in the patent to William , No. 934,857 of Sept. 1, 1909. The said improve-ments consist in certain changes in the mechanism whichrenders the device less liable to bind. A further object of our invention is in provide a deviceusing less tension weights than the older form, and onewhich is more durable. A further object of our invention is to provide a deviceto take the place of the rack and gear mechanism of theolder device which we found to clog up with dirt and oil,thereby necessitating frequent cleaning, and being hard tooperate. Other objects and advantages will appear in the follow-ing specification and the novel features of the inventionwill be particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
