After six months appearance thispublication was changed to the Northwestern Reporter, which wasthe beginning of the National Reporting System, an extensive pub-lishing business now conducted by the West Publishing Eller continued as editor of this publication until May, this period he prepared a digest of volumes i to 25 of theMinnesota reports, which were published by the West PuljlishingCompany in 18S2. When the St. Paul municipal court was organized Mr. Eller wasappointed the first special judge, and served several years in thatposition. In politics he was a republican, but never took a veryactive
