SOUTHWESTERN CORN BORER (Zeadiatraea grandiosella) - ARKANSAS - Five fields of corn in Lafayette and Miller Counties average 11 percent of stalks damaged. Concurrent infestations of corn earworm made deter- mination of damage difficult. First record of Z. grandiosella from Lafay- ette County. (Warren). BILLBUGS - NORTH CAROLINA - Sixty-five acres of corn destroyed in Pamlico County. (Jones). SOUTH DAKOTA - Calendra sp. quite numer- ous locally in Turner County. Six acres of com destroyed. (Hantsbarger). NEBRASKA - Calendra maidis causing light to moderate damage in Cass County. (Roselle). CORN ROOT WEBWORM (Crambus caliqinosellus) - MINNESOTA - At least 10 acres of a 15-acre field of young corn in south central area com- pletely destroyed. (Minn. Ins. Rept. Serv. ). VIRGINIA - Heavy in corn in Pittsylvania County. (Dominick)..
