Remains of rectangular low rock wall built by members of the ill fated Greely Expedition on Pim Island, halfway up Ellsemere Island in the high arctic of Nunavut, Canada. American Adolphus Greely led 26 men by ship in 1881 to travel as far north as possible. When a resupply ship couldn't reach their outpost on the northern end of Ellesmere, they travelled south, setting up a camp on Pim during the winter of 1883/4. They built the rock wall for wind protection and lived in their small overturned shore boat but without food or supplies, all but seven died.
