The four-armed Īśāna sits on the caparisoned and bejeweled Nandi. In his upper right hand is the trishula (trident) and in his upper left is the mriga (gazelle). His lower right hand is in abhaya mudra and the lower left is poised to hold Nandi’s reins, which have not been drawn.
