Burning of the English Fleet Near Chatham (19-24 June 1667). Burning the English fleet at Chatham, during the trip to Chatham. Proposed is the attack of the Dutch fleet on the English fleet that was anchor on the Medway River, a side river of the Thames. In the foreground, it won Fort Sheerness in flames. To the right of three burning English ships is to see the conquest of the Royal Charles flagship. The destruction of the English fleet at Chatham was an important episode from the second English sea war (1665-1667).
