Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from public and private schools across the state participated in the competition. MATHCOUNTS builds skills, promotes strategic problem solving and challenges students to sharpen their analytical abilities in a lively exchange of mathematical ideas through competition. Honolulu District has actively supported the MATHCOUNTS program since 1997 and provided volunteer "engineer" manpower for the events. The winners of today's event advance to the 2019 MATHCOUNTS national finals in Orlando, Fla. in May.
