On a white background, several blue stripes run through the shard, which lie across the rib and fade at the ends. For the production, threads were placed on the white vessel body and the whole thing was fused in a mould. Because of the elaborate manufacturing process and its fragility, glass was considered one of the luxury items of antiquity.
