After enduring various vicissitudes the linebecame identified, in 1898, with the Brooklyn Rapid Transitsystem. Connection was made by an incline and elevated. Section 2 is a cut6,400 feet in length, extending from a point about 300 feetsouth of Church street to Fisk terrace, near Avenue H. Fromthis point the line reaches an embankment by a grade per cent, and extends on this fill to Coney Island ave-nue near the Brighton Beach resorts. That portion of thework represented by the fill is designated Section 3, and feet long. Prom Church street to the end of the im-provement at Brighton Beach, through the cut and on thefill, it is proposed to make the road a four-track line, the twoouter tracks to be used for local, and the two inside tracksfor express traffic.
