Z. latissime ovatus, fulvus, pilis aurcis adspersus ; eljtris nitide nigricantibus, margine exteriore fulva; clava anteniiarum nigra. Long. 3 lin. Hah. Madagascar. Very broadly ovate, fulvous, with scattered golden hairs; elytra glossy black, the external margin fulvous ; head and rostrum finely punc- tured, the latter broader at the base, the scrobes passing obliquely in front of the eye, not receiving the whole of the scape ; club of the antenna and last tln-ee joints of the funicle black, the first joint stout and rather longer than the second; pro- thorax nearly twice as broad as long, the scutellar lobe truncate ; scutellum hollowed in the middle, the two anterior angles tuberculiform ; elytra about as broad as long, linearly sulcate, the shoulder and outer margin fulvous ; body beneath and legs sparsely pubescent. MiSYNUS. Rostrum tenuatum, arcuatum ; scrobes laterales. Oculi ovati, infra approximati. Antennce in medio rostri insertse; scapiis oculum hand attingens; clava cjlindrica, elongata. Prothoraoc con- vexus, utriuque rotundatus, lobis ocularibus distinctis. Elytra prothorace vix latiora. Coxce antica3 contiguse; femora longe pedunculata, infra dentata. Abdomen segmeutis tribus inter- mediis gradatim brevioribus. I do not find the scrobes connivent beneath the rostrum, as stated by Lacordaire, in Mecocorynus or in Ectatorki'nuSj and in that respect they agree with the above. From the former this genus differs in the separation of the anterior coxce, from the latter in the terete rostrum, and from both in the narrow elytra, scarcely broader than the prothorax at the base. Misynus dissimilis. M. oblongo-ellipticus, fuscus ; prothorace apice angustiore, utrinque fortiter rotundato ; elytris griseo-variegatis. Long. 5| lin. Hah. Niam-niam. Oblong-elliptic, brown, prothorax and ely
