A cavalry pistol, circa 1700. Polygonal barrel merging to round with smooth bore in 17 mm calibre and a slightly swamped muzzle. The mark "ZEL" (for Zella-Mehlis/Suhl) is stamped on the side of the breech. Iron front sight and crenate tang. Iron lock with later floral engraving. The blackened wooden stock (restored break in the region of the lock) has an iron nose cap and furniture. Wooden ramrod with iron tip. Length 56 cm. Cf.
