The closed core trans-former is now supplied withall Marconi sets. It has theadvantage of efficiency, andcheapness of construction, and requires but a smallamount of space for erec-tion. A safety gap is providedto protect the secondarywinding in case, the rotarygap is thrown out ofsynchronism with thecharging current.
