Shongdian Yunnan Province China


Songzanlin, also known as Guihua or Ganden Sumtseling Monastery is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan. The site of the monastery was chosen by the Fifth Dalai lama who chose it through divination, and construction of the monastery began in 1679 and was completed two years later.
