A German wheellock rifle, Georg Grosser, circa 1680. Octagonal, lightly swamped barrel with seven-groove rifling in 13 mm calibre. Dovetailed brass front sight and folding, cut iron, rear sight. "Georg Grosser" engraved on the breech. Wheellock with chiselled floral decoration and a semi-interior wheel. There is a seated Mars with martial trophies on the engraved lock plate. Double set trigger with an engraved iron trigger guard. Walnut stock with a patch box, horn nose cap, and ramrod thimbles of bone and horn. The cheek piece bears an inlaid bone plate engrav,
