Port Sudan Airport, Sudan, Africa, Ikonos satellite image. Port Sudan was established by the British in 1905. It marks the end of the railway joining the Nile with the Red Sea. It has a population, as of 2004, of around 450,000 people. Tourists use the airport to access Sudan's Red Sea beaches and diving. Photographed on 9 July 2001.
