One of the most im])ortant finds nuxde during tlie excavations at thisplare was a large grooved ax of the wedge-hafted type (-stoiie iu place. There is no doubt that this tool was used oy theancieut qnarrynien in dislodging, and possildy iu trimming, the massesof stone.
