Trays of Chinese wooden movable type on display at Dongyuan village of Ruian City in Zhejiang Province of China. Chinese wooden movable type has been declared a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and is preserved and continued to be used in Dongyuan village at Ruian, where many Chinese families have their geneaology updated with this traditional Chinese printing system created by Bi Leng in the 11th century, hundreds of years before Johannes Gutenberg introduced the movable type printing press to Europe.
