The Scheme as a Whole The general scheme of development comprisesan intake structure in the Niagara River at Chip-pawa; the deepening and widening of the WellandRiver between Chippawa and Montrose, a dis-tance of 41/2 miles; the construction of a canal8j/2 milei long from Montrose to the forebay andscreenhouse at a point on the cliff about a milesouth of the village of Queenston; and the con-struction and equipment of a power house in thegorge below the QUEENSTON—CHIPPAWA DEVELOPMENT Fig. 9 Placing concrete lining on rock sides of canal.
