Contrasting varieties of corn from Peru: purple corn for making popular chicha morada drink, white Mote, and orange grains used for flour or feed.

Purple maize is used for making Chicha Morada a purple soft drink; the large white maize is boiled and served as Mote alongside favorite dishes such as Chicharron; the smaller orange grains are more similar in size to sweet corn kernels and could be chicken feed or ground into flour to make tamales.
