In this class ofgames Hollister has this year run quar-ter miles in 5 is. and 50 4-5S., and halfmiles in im. 59 2-5S., im. 57 2-5S., andtwice in im. 56 4-5S. He won the Har-vard-Yale half mile in 1895, the Har-vard-University of Pennsylvania quar-ter mile and half mile in 1896, and theIntercollegiate championship half milein 1895 and 1896. At steeplechasing and middle-dis-tance running our best performer hasbeen G. W. Orton, of the New YorkAthletic Club. He is of Canadian birth,twenty-three years old, 5 feet 6 inchesin height and runs at about 125 lbs. Hisprincipal performances this year are,running a half mil
