This work of art is a bronze by Sculptor Antoni Parera which is named "Barcelona" and was created in 1928 for the 1929 Barcelona Universal Exposition. It is the figure of a half-naked woman, shown launching a vessel which she holds aloft in her hand and represents the industry, commerce and navigation within the Mediterranean area and in particular the city of Barcelona itself.
