Bucks Mills, Phone Box and South West Coast Path Out of the Village With Signpost to Peppercombe 2 1/2 miles, Bucks Mills, Devon, Great Britain.

This picturesque section of the South West Coast Path leaves Bucks Mills village from beside an old fashioned red phone box. It is signposted to Peppercombe, but you can continue on to Greencliff and further onto Westward Ho! From the opposite side of the valley you can walk along Hobby Drive to Clovelly. Local history suggests that survivors from the Spanish Armada settled here marrying the local women. It was an isolated village with the residents being self sufficient on agriculture and fishing. Lime was burned in the old lime kilns, which date from 1760. Bucks Mills is now a popular destination for tourists, who enjoy the beach, South West coastal path and surrounding woodlands.
