Interior of the New Mexico State Capitol . Much of the building is open to the public both to view where State governance takes place and view the art. The building is the only circular State Capitol in the US> Members of the public are admitted free to to the building and have access to the wonderful display of art works there. The Capitol Art Fund was established in 1991 and acquires art for public display in the building. It collects work from artists who live and work within the State. The Governor's Galery, on the fourth floor, is a space designed to educate the public about the artistic heritage of the State. its xhibition rotates several times a year. The building must be the best free collection of art in the whole State.
