Bukhara Ark, scene for many stories in the Great Game. Building started in around the 5th century to create both fortress, dungeon and library. In legend, the creator of the Ark was the epic Iranian / Persian hero prince, Siyavusha who fled here to the heart of the lands of Turan (as then known). A key staging post in the great Silk Road
