View of the Comet ISON as it streaks toward the Sun
November 19, 2013 taken using a 14-inch telescope located at the Marshall Space Flight Center. Comet ISON began its trip from the Oort cloud region of our solar system and is now traveling toward the sun and will reach its closest approach to the sun on Nov 28, 2013. If it comes around the sun without breaking up, the comet will be visible in the Northern Hemisphere with the naked eye and is predicted to be a particularly bright and beautiful comet.
