Berlin Bismarckstraße U-Bahn Underground railway station in the Charlottenburg district serves the U 2 and U 7 interior, green tiles

Berlin Bismarckstraße U-Bahn Underground railway station in the Charlottenburg district serves the U 2 and U 7 lines. It was opened in 1978 on the eponymous street named after Otto von Bismarck. Bismarckstraße station was built when the construction of the new U7 line from Fehrbelliner Platz to Richard-Wagner-Platz (former Wilhelmplatz) required a two-level station at the intersection with the U2 line. The subway architect was Rainer G. Rümmler and the old tunnel at the site was rebuilt using reinforced concrete, with the new U7 tunnel running under it in north-south direction. Bismarckstraße station is currently undergoing an overall refurbishment. Berlin architects Petra and Paul Kahlfeldt have drawn up the plans that use wall panelling with large dark green tiles and a redesign of the escalator connecting both platforms is planned.
