This species of displacement is mostapt to occur between the third and fourth monthsof pregnancy ; it may, however, take place ata much later period ; and, in some instances,it has been noticed soon after delivery. Itsprogress, though occasionally gradual, is gene- rallY rapid. Anteversion (Fig. 220) is a displacement pre-cisely the reverse of the preceding, that is tosay, the fundus of the womb is carried for-wards on the urinary bladder, and the mouthbackwards towards the rectum and the hollow.
