Grey-headed Gull (Chroicephalus cirrocephalus) at Molfetta (Italy)


The Grey-headed Gull (Chroicephalus cirrocephalus) is an exremely rare bird in Europe, as its breeding grounds are in South America and south of the Sahara in Africa. This individual was first observed along the adriatic coast of Molfetta (near Bari, Puglia, Italy) in October 2012, and then was observed on a regular basis during the Spring/Summer of 2013. To date (25th July 2013) it is still being observed regularly in this site.
