Sompting War Memorial, St Marys Church, Sompting. The memorial situated within the Lych Gate commemorates the men of this West Sussex village who laid down their lives in the First (the Great War) and the Second World Wars. The rectangle plinth incorporating Sussex flints has side panels detailing those who died in the First World War with the names of those who were lost in the Second World War inscribed on the top of the memorial.
