Corn earworm (Helicoverpa zea). Corn earworm is a major agricultural pest that damages a wide range of crops, including maize, cotton and tomatoes. Maize (Zea mays) is a staple part of the diet in many parts of the world, and is also used as animal feed (fodder) and biofuel. In the USA, maize is known as corn. Photographed in the USA.
