Copenhagen, Denmark. May 30th 2013. 17 sand sculptures of up to 10 metres height built from 3,000 tons sand by 30 international sand artists are on display until August 25th at Havnegade in the port of Copenhagen in one of the most spectacular sand sculpture events in northern Europe. "Big Mama" by Ulrich Baentsch, Germany. The woman is sitting comfortably on top of a lot of little men creeping around her. The sculpture is about the ambiguity of the female from the male point of view. There is a beauty and attraction, but there might also be something scary about her. © Niels Quist / Alamy Liv
