Stamens inserted at the throat of the perianthtube, the filaments less than twice as long as the seg-ments, Capsule ovoid-prismatic, cuspidate, i-^âif inchlong, 7â8 lines in diameter; seeds J inch broad. A native of the West Indies. I see no reason todoubt that, as stated by Salm-Dyck, this is the plant.
