Malieveld, Liberation Day Festival, The Hague, The Netherlands. Saturday, 5th May, 2018. Candy Dolfer performed today on the Malieveld. Additional headliners performing were Tim Akkermam and: Top of the bill, Di-Rect. Liberation Day (Bevrijdingsdag) honors the day in 1945 when Holland was liberated from occupation by the German army at the end of World War II. In total 14 formal Liberation Day festivals were being staged all over the country. The celebrations end with the traditional May 5 concert on the Amstel river in Amsterdam, which is broadcast live on television and will be attended by king Willem-Alexander and queen Máxima.
