Nasir ol Molk Mosque (Pink Mosque) courtyard and reflecting pool, Shiraz, Fars Province, Iran


Shiraz is known for its splendid gardens, exquisite mosques The Nasir ol Molk Mosque is one of the most beautiful in Iran. It is also known as the Pink Mosque due the the extensive use of rose-coloured mosaic tiles in the designs on its walls and ceilings. The mosque was built from 1876 to 1888 during the Qajar era by the order of the ruler Mirzā Hasan Ali (Nasir ol Molk). The designers were Mohammad Hasan e Memār and Mohammad Rezā Kāshi-Sāz e Širāzi. The inner courtyard contains a reflecting pool. In this photo, you can see the shadow of one of the two minarets present on the main facade.
