DURING the year 1920 the Boston Elevated Rail-I way made substantial progress in replacing horsewith motor vehicles in the interest of economyand efficiency. Thirty-two motor vehicles with a totalcapacity of 25 tons were purchased at a cost of approxi-mately $138,000. The 5-ton trucks were of the Macktype and the balance White trucks.
