2nd Lt. Michael Purcell, an infantry officer with 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, uses a rotary tool to polish the medals on a bronze statue of a Marine during a community service project at Park Semper Fi in San Clemente, Calif., May 19, 2017. Marines worked with the community in an effort to give back to the people of the San Clemente area. The project consisted of cleaning up the bronze Marine statue and plaques around the park.
