The lion's mane jellyfish, Cyanea capillata, also goes by giant jellyfish, arctic red jellyfish, or the hair jelly. It derives it's name from it's very long tentacles it used to inflict a sting to incapacitate prey. It's sting is very painful but not fatal to humans.
