Then placeon the horse a common surcingle to hold the cords in their proper places,turning the horse out in a close yard or barn floor, and let him or her kickor do as they please for nine hours or more, according to the strength ofcord in the tail; and at the end of that time you may untie the tail, andhave no fears of switching any more.
