"Lithuania" is one of the main exponents of the artist's work, characterized by the representation of patriotic issues that seek to extol Polish nationalism. The series is around the so -called January 1863, during which the so -called Republic of the two nations (current Poland, Lithuania, Belarus and parts of Ukraine and Western Russia) rose against an invasion of the Russian Empire. The six drawings were acquired in 1869 by the Society of Friends of Fine Arts of Krakow and donated to the City Council in 1897. They are currently preserved in the National Museum of Krakow.
